WILLIAM B. "BILL" MARTIN, SR., 58, of Rockwood, Illinois, passed away at 4:06 pm, Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale, Carbondale, Illinois. He was born to the late William P. and Helen J. (nee Voudrie) Martin on October 12, 1953 in East St. Louis, Illinois. He was married to Nola R. Grider on June 21, 1971 in Perryville, Missouri; she survives. He had retired from Chester Mental Health were he was a Security/Therapy Aide. He was of the Baptist Faith. He was a member of V.F.W. Post #3553 in Chester, American Legion Post #487 in Chester, Moose Lodge #1764 in Chester, Chester Eagle Club Aerie #3252 and the Modoc Sportsman's Club. He was a Navy Veteran and had been a crain operator on the USS Lexington during his enlistment.
