SISTER CLOTILDA SPEZIA, ASC, 100, of the Adorers of the Blood of Christ, Ruma Center, Ruma, Illinois, passed away at 3:10 pm, Thursday, December 29, 2011 at the community's center in Ruma, Illinois. She was born to the late Louis and Antonietta (nee Berra) Spezia in Herrin, Illinois on October 28, 1911. She made her first vows as an Adorer of the Blood of Christ on July 2, 1930 and perpetual profession on July 1, 1935. Sister Clotilda devoted over 50 years to the educational ministry and taught high school at St. Teresa Academy, East St. Louis, Illinois (1934-55; 1956-62), St. Edmond High School, Fort Dodge, Iowa (1955-56; 1962-65), Mater Dei High School, Breese, Illinois (1965-66), Althoff High School, Belleville, Illinois (1966-69) and Pius X High School, Festus, Missouri (1969-81). After her ministry in education, she moved to De Mattias Hall in St. Louis, Missouri (1981-95), and retired at the Ruma Center in 1995.
