Howard C. Alms, 89, of Chester, IL, passed away at 2:20 pm on Friday, October 21, 2011 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home in Chester, IL. He was the son of Edwin and Laura (nee: Hallworth) Alms. He was born on August 2, 1922 in Steeleville, Illinois. Howard married Marcella Hapke on November 25, 1942 in Chester, IL. She preceded him in death on June 16, 2005. He was a retired installer/repairman for General Telephone. Howard was a Navy Veteran and served in WWII. He was a member of the Peace Lutheran Church in Chester. He was also a member of the Masons and VFW Post #3553.
