SAMUEL L. KORANDO, 92, of Chester, Illinois passed away at 8:25 am, Thursday, October 20, 2011 at his residence. He was born to late Andy and Myrtle (nee Wilson) Korando on October 19, 1919 in Raddle, Illinois. He married Dorothy L. Meyer on March 7, 1943 at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Steeleville, Illinois; she survives. He was a life long farmer. He had been a Country Companies Insurance Agent and then became a crop adjuster for Country Companies; for a total of 50 years with the company. He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Chester, Lion's Club in Chester, Charter member of the Chester Chapter of the Ducks Unlimited, The Hunt Club, Randolph County Farm Bureau and served on board, and the National Toothpick Holder Association along with his wife. He was an elected member of the Regional Board of School Trustees for Monroe-Randolph Counties. He was an avid sportsman, hunter, fisherman and wood craftsman. He enjoyed watching St. Louis Cardinals' Baseball and had been a season ticket holder to the S.I.U. Saluki Football. He also took an annual fishing trip to Canada. Survivors: Wife: Dorothy L.
