ONETA MACIEISKI, 89, of Carbondale, Illinois, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 5:35 pm, Tuesday, June 21, 2011 at Herrin Hospital, Herrin, Illinois. She was born to Joe and Esther (nee Stricklin) Racine on August 15, 1921 in Harrisburg, Illinois. She married Stanley A. Macieiski on August 1, 1945 in Benton, Illinois; he preceded her in death on December 15, 2001. She was a homemaker and she was an avid quilter. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois, V.F.W. Auxiliary in Chester, American Legion Auxiliary in Chester, Blessed Virgin Mary Altar Sodality, First Armored Division Association and D.A.V. Auxiliary.
