CLIFFORD M. UMBDENSTOCK, 95, of Evansville, Illinois, passed away at 4:50 pm, Friday, June 17, 2011 at his residence. He was born to the late Maynard and Katherine (nee Bailey) Umbdenstock on September 28, 1915 in Danby, Missouri. He married Mildred Armbruster on November 28, 1936 in St. Charles, Missouri; she preceded him in death on December 23, 1998. He had worked at Pittsburgh Plate Glass Co in Crystal City, MO for 38 years. He was one of the many employees who hand cut the glass panes windows for the Sears Tower located in Chicago, Illinois. He retired from PPG as an overhead crane operator on September 28, 1973. He was also a farmer and an avid gardener. He was a member of the Randolph County Farm Bureau and a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #622 in Prairie du Rocher, Illinois. He loved to go hunting and fishing. He enjoyed traveling with many of his family members and friends. He has traveled to all 50 states. He was a veteran of WWII and was a Navy seaman on a gunner ship serving in the South Pacific.
