GERTRUDE B. MARSHALL, 92, of Chester, Illinois, passed away Saturday, February 5, 2011 at her home in rural Chester, IL. She was born to Wilfred "Fred" and Rena (nee: Meyer) Marshall on August 12, 1918 in rural Chester, IL. Gertrude was an Elementary School Teacher for 40 years beginning her career in one room schools and retiring from Central Attendance Center in the Sparta School District in 1980. She was a member of the New Palestine Methodist Church, New Palestine, Illinois, the Randolph County Teachers Association and the IRTA. She enjoyed her flower garden, watching all the birds that she cared for, going fishing every chance she got and the companionship of her dog, Pal.
