IDA L. COFFEY, 89, of Clarksville, Indiana, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 am, Sunday, October 03, 2010 at Westminster Village Retirement Community, Clarksville, Indiana. She was born to the late Charles Hubert and Myrtle Ida (nee Nichols) Coffey, Sr. on December 25, 1920 in Chester, Illinois. She graduated from Chester High School in 1938 and then worked at the International Shoe Company in Chester before moving to Chicago to work briefly in a state mental hospital. Ida worked for Mars Candy Company for 38 years and 4 months before retiring. She lived in Chicago for over 50 years before moving to Clarksville, Indiana to live at Westminster Village Retirement Community. Over the years, she had a total of eight cats, which she loved dearly. Ida was an elder in the Presbyterian Church at Portage Park Presbyterian in Chicago and St. John United Presbyterian in New Albany, Indiana. In Chicago, she was the church representative to Presbytery.
