MARY ALICE LAWDER, 92, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 12:50 am, Tuesday, September 28, 2010 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois. Mary Alice was born to the late Joseph Vickers and Correnne (nee: Vogelsang) Guthman Vickers on November 28, 1917 at Rockwood, Illinois. Mary Alice married A. Shelby Lawder on December 21, 1935 at Waterloo, Illinois; he preceded her in death on November 9, 1990 She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Chester where she was an Elder, a member of the Presbyterian Women's Circle and a Sunday School Teacher. She was also a member of the Home Extension, Charter Member of Chester Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and had been a Cub Scout Den Mother, a 4-H Leader and an avid Quilter.
