BURNELL J. "B.J." MENARD, 81, of Ruma, Illinois, passed away at 3:15 pm, Thursday, July 1, 2010 at his residence. B.J. was born to the late Gregory and Jewel (nee Leavitt) Menard on September 8, 1928 at Fort Gage, Illinois. He was owner of B.J. Auto Company in Ruma, Illinois for over 35 years. He was of the Catholic Faith. He was a Korean War Army Veteran. He was a member of American Legion Post # 1172, Evansville, Illinois and a lifetime member of the V.F.W. Post #3553, Chester, Illinois. Survivors: Special Friend: Frances Chapman Ruma, IL 1 Brother: Rolin "Shorty" Menard Red Bud, IL 1 Sister: Georgia Renner Evansville, IL Several Nephews and a Niece He was like a Grandfather to Erin & Jessica Chapman Preceded in death by Parents and 1 Brother - Rodger Menard It was B.J. wishes to be cremated. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 am, Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Ruma, Illinois. Memorials can be made in forms of Masses or to Hospice of Southern Illinois and are being accepted at the funeral home. Welge-Pechacek Funeral Home, Red Bud, Illinois is assisting the family with arrangements.
