ALLEN R. GODWIN, 64, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 8:50 am, Wednesday, November 27, 2024 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.

He was born to Merle Godwin and Hazel (nee Womack) Essex on January 13, 1960 in Murphysboro, Illinois.

Allen had worked for Gilster Mary-Lee Corporation.

He was fascinated by the railroad and love to build train sets.

It was Allen’s wish to be cremated. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, March 29, 2025 at New Palestine Cemetery in Walsh with Dr. Mike Fogerson officiating.

Memorials may be made to a cancer foundation of the donor’s choice and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester, Illinois
