Allen D. Miers

ALLEN D. MIERS, 78, of Ellis Grove, Illinois, passed away at 7:30 am, Tuesday, March 26, 2019 at his residence.

He was born to the late Joseph and Elenor (nee Gerlach) Miers on September 16, 1940 in Ellis Grove, Illinois.

Allen married Carrie Seymour on January 11, 1960 in Aurora, Illinois; she preceded him in death on May 19, 2018.

He worked for maintenance at Menard Correctional Center for 25 years until his retirement.

Allen was a member of First Baptist Church, Ellis Grove, Illinois. He was also a member of Mississippi Gun Club. Allen enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing and farming. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
