Barbara A Niermann

BARB ARA A. NIERMANN , 7 9 , of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 pm , Sunday, December 4, 2022 at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri with her husband at her side. She was blessed with good health until a non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma diagnosis two years ago. Although she struggled with her health over the last two years, she cherished the time she had with family and friends.

She was born to the late Walter and Dolores (nee Rheinecker) Spreitler on March 13, 1943 in St. Louis, Missouri. Her family moved to Red Bud when she was a child and Walter opened Spreitler Auto Body.

Barb married her best friend and love of her life, Ken Niermann, on June 1, 1963 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud. During their mo re than 59 years of marriage, they were blessed with two daughters and three grandchildren. She was a dedicated loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Barb and Ken started and ran Niermann Oil Company for 45 years and Niermann Rental for 55 years. She was active in the family businesses.

Barb was also very involved at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church and School in Red Bud, first as a teacher and then as a volunteer . Along with be ing extremely dedicated to her family, she also enjoyed spending time with many long-time friends in Red Bud and Florida. She was a wonderful cook and often shared her giving nature through food and other many other acts of kindness. Her dedication to faith, family and friends will always be treasured by many.
