Betty H. Congleton

BETTY H. CONGLETON, 90, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 5:36 am, Saturday, December 25, 2021 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.

She was born to the late Elmer and Pearl (nee Seel) Hasemeyer on January 21, 1931 in Fort Gage, Illinois.

Betty married Ralph “Blue” Congleton on June 28, 1952 in Piggot, Arkansas; he preceded her in death on December 9, 2016.

Betty was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester. She was also a long time volunteer at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home and a friend to all that knew her. She was a talented quilt make, winning numerous awards for her beautiful hand stitched creations, often depicting historical scenes in Randolph County. Betty also created beautiful pies that were in big demand by the locals around Chester. She will be missed.
