Beulah Robert

BEULAH MAY ROBERT, 94, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Accolade Healthcare, Waterloo, Illinois

She was born to the late Claude Henry and Nathalie Rosa (nee Kennedy) Simpson on May 8, 1932, in Evansville, Illinois.

On April 25, 1953, Beulah married Donald Robert, and together they built a life in Red Bud, raised three sons and shared 62 years of marriage.

Beulah graduated from Southern Illinois University of Carbondale with a degree in Education, leading to a career as a kindergarten teacher in Red Bud. She gave her talent and abilities for 32 years to young children. Beulah retired June 3, 1988, but she continued to work with children as a substitute teacher and private tutor.

She was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois, and was active in many parish organizations and activities as well as the Newman Auxiliary.

Beulah will be remembered for baking sugar cookies and making chicken and dumplings. She baked dozens and dozens of cookies with family members for weddings, parties, and holidays. You could always count on Beulah making chicken and dumplings for special occasions, especially the Simpson Christmas Party.

She was happiest when playing card games and bingo with family and friends.

She is gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
