Billy Gene Sims

BILLY GENE SIMS, 57, of Perryville, Missouri, passed away at 11:29 am, Wednesday, July 15, 2026 at his residence.

He was born to Darlene (nee Gillis) Sims on September 19, 1968 in Anna, Illinois.

Billy had worked as a correctional officer at Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Illinois.

He was of Christian Faith and had just rededicated his life to his Savior Jesus Christ two weeks ago. Billy was a member of the Eagles Aerie #4034 and the American Legion Post #133 in Perryville, Missouri. He was a very talented pool player and had won several championships. Billy loved animals, especially his dog, Koda. He was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan and also loved baseball and NASCAR.

Billy was a good friend to many and would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. He will be missed by all who knew him.
