Carol Louise Miller

October 2, 1940 — May 13, 2026

CAROL LOUISE (nee RHEINECKER) MILLER, 85, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, in Orlando, Florida. She was born on October 2, 1940, in Red Bud, Illinois.

Known for her nurturing heart and kindness, Carol touched the lives of everyone around her. She graduated from Precious Blood High School in Ruma, Illinois, and went on to earn multiple certificates in Food Service Management. Carol spent many years in food service management, where her genuine warmth and care for others touched countless lives. She was a mentor to many, guiding staff with patience, a quick wit, and an open heart. Whether she was serving patients in a hospital, students at school, or patrons in the community, Carol’s daily mission was always the same: to bring a smile and comfort through a warm meal.

On May 20, 1961, Carol married John David "Jack" Curran, with whom she began her journey into motherhood. Following his passing, Carol found love again and was united in marriage to Richard Miller on June 30, 1988. Carol and Richard shared many beautiful, devoted years together before his passing.

A nurturing mother at heart, Carol lovingly raised her children: Debbie Curran, Cyndi Curran, David Curran, and John (Connie) Curran. Her legacy of love and devotion continues to shine through her grandchildren—Amy Deffenbaugh, Jordan Curran, and Eryn Jackson—and her two cherished great-grandchildren.

Carol was reunited in death with her beloved husbands, Jack and Richard, as well as her parents, Ray and Marie Rheinecker. Her memory will be forever kept alive by her loving sister, Mary Jean Ellner, and her family.

Carol’s life was dedicated to her family and serving others around her. She will be remembered for her warm smile and inviting personality. May her memory bring a sense of peace to everyone who loved her.

A Memorial Mass for Carol & Richard will be held at 10:00 am, Thursday, June 4, 2026, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Red Bud, Illinois, with Msgr. Carl Scherrer officiating. Burial will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Red Bud, Illinois.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, from 4:00 pm – 8:00 pm at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Red Bud, Illinois.
