Carole Anne Malley

CAROLE ANNE MALLEY, 76, of Chester, Illinois, formerly of Carterville, Illinois, passed away at 11:48 pm, Friday, August 13, 2021 at her residence.

She was born to the late Ralph and Catherine Mozelle (nee Brookshire) Corley on November 22, 1944 in Herrin, Illinois.

Carole married K. Patrick Malley on July 3, 1965 in Carterville, Illinois; he preceded her in death on August 17, 1994.

She had worked as a teller at Buena Vista National Bank for 30 years.

Carole was of the Christian Faith. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary in Chester. She was a Girl Scout Troop leader and also a member of the Xi Upsilon Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi who had raised the money for the original bronze statue of Popeye near the Welcome Center where she also volunteered. Carole loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She had a sarcastic Irish sense of humor and loved to drink beer.

It was Carole’s wish to be cremated. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Carole’s memory to St. Mary’s Catholic School and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester.
