CHAD A. GROHMANN , 47, of Waterloo, Illinois, passed away at 10:20am, Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.
He was born to Dennis and Kathy (nee Hanebutt) Grohmann on November 22, 1976 in Red Bud, Illinois.
Chad married Taryn DeRousse on September 14, 2019 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Waterloo, Illinois; she survives.
Chad grew up on the family farm, Cedar Ridge Farms, and enjoyed working on the farm for a portion of his career after high school. He was employed by the City of Red Bud as a Water Systems Operator and took great pride in his work. He was a hunter, enjoyed cooking, and was a talented handyman. There weren’t many things he couldn’t fix.
Chad was a dedicated firefighter for the Red Bud Fire Department for 23 years. The camaraderie and sense of duty meant more to Chad than his fellow firefighters will ever know. To him it was a brotherhood in every sense of the word. He was also a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Illinois.
Nothing meant more to Chad than his family. He was a compassionate father, devoted husband, loving son, loyal brother, and a friend to more people than we can count.
