Daniel Nelson Boone

DANIEL NELSON BOONE, 71, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:45 am, Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born to the late Olan Nelson and Ollie Grace (nee Walker) Boone on November 4, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Daniel married Angela Turner on February 16, 1980 in Collinsville, Illinois; she survives.

He was a retired lineman for Frontier.

Daniel loved drag racing, fishing, grilling meat, football, vacationing in Florida and spending time with his family and friends where he was “Pop” to everyone he met. He was very active in Chester’s Toys for Tots and was President of the Sons of the American Revolution. He was also a former President of the Collinsville Jaycee’s and was a member of the Collinsville Raiders Little League Football where he enjoyed coaching both of his sons.

Preceded in Death by: Parents, Father-in-law – Ted Turner, 1 Brother – Will Boone, 1 Sister-in-law – Pamela Turner, 1 Infant Brother-in-law – Earl Turner and 1 Niece – Nicole Dobbs

It was Daniel’s wish to be cremated. A private memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Peace Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service at 12:00 pm at the American Legion in Chester, Illinois.

Memorials may be made in Daniel’s honor to Chester Toys for Tots or Family Choice and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
