Darrell A Phegley

DARRELL A. PHEGLEY, 87, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, passed away at 10:23 pm, Tuesday, December 8, 2020 at his residence.

He was born to the late Calvin and Ruby (nee Kempfer) Phegley on December 6, 1933 in Modoc, Illinois.

Darrell married Shirley Wiegard on June 27, 1953 at St Leo’s Catholic Church in Modoc, Illinois; she survives.

He had been a Locomotive Engineer for Missouri Pacific and South Pacific Railroad for 40 years.

He was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, National Rife Association. and Locomotive Engineer Local in Scott City, Missouri.

Darrell enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Preceded in death by: Parents, 1 Infant Son – Mark Phegley, 1 Brother- Dale Phegley and 1 Son-in-law – Rulen Knox

A Private Funeral Service will be held Friday, December 11, 2020 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois with Msgr. Dennis Schaefer officiating. Interment will be at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Red Bud, Illinois.

Memorials contributions can be made in Darrell’s memory to American Cancer Society and memorials are being accepted at the Pechacek Funeral Homes in Red Bud.
