Darryl E. Garris

DARRYL “ GROUNDHOG” E. GARRIS , 64 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 7:39 pm, Saturday, May 2, 2020 at his residence.

He was born to the late Robert W. and Dorothy (nee Mehrtens) Garris on October 14, 1955 in Red Bud, Illinois.

Darryl had worked as a head miller for Con Agra Mill for 38 years.

He was of the Christian Faith. Darryl was a member of the American Legion Post #487 and the Eagles Club Aerie #3252. He enjoyed bird watching and spending time with his grandchildren. Darryl was an avid St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues fan.

It was Darryl’s wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Memorials contributions can be made in Darryl’s memory to the American Heart Association and memorials are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester.
