DENNIS FISCHER, 84, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 3:05 pm, Monday, January 12, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri.

He was born to the late Herbert and Loretta (nee George) Fischer on August 5, 1941, in Belleville, Illinois.

Dennis married Nola L. Spinnie on January 7, 1966, in St. Louis, Missouri; she preceded him in death on December 21, 2024.

Dennis devoted many years to working at the Baldwin Power Plant, providing faithfully for his family and setting an example of dedication and perseverance. He retired on June 1, 2002.

Dennis was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, Red Bud, Illinois. He was strong in his faith. Dennis walked closely with God, allowing his beliefs to shape the way he loved, served, and lived each day.

Dennis was a proud United States Navy veteran whose life was marked by service, integrity, and quiet strength.

He had a true gift for woodworking, pouring patience and care into every piece he created. A devoted St. Louis Cardinals fan and lifelong Ford man, Dennis also found his greatest peace outdoors, where he often tended his yard — a reflection of the love and pride he took in the life he built.

Above all, Dennis’s greatest joy was his family. He loved his wife deeply and cherished his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren with his whole heart. He was the proud father of two beautiful children, a loving grandfather to nine grandchildren, and a devoted great-grandfather to eleven great-grandchildren.

Dennis’s life was one of faith, love, and service. His legacy will live on in the hands he taught, the lessons he shared, and the generations who were blessed to call him husband, father, grandpa, and great-grandpa.
