Dolores Ann Waltemate

DOLORES ANN WALTEMATE, 91, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 10:26 pm, Thursday, September 15, 2022 at her residence.

She was born to the late Robert and Rose (nee Luesse) Niklich on September 26, 1930 in Belleville, Illinois.

Dolores married her high school sweetheart, Rudolph “Rudy” E. Waltemate on November 19, 1949 at Peace Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on March 14, 2009.

She worked for General Telephone Company, Randolph County Courthouse and the Chester Food Park.

She was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Chester, Illinois. She was also a member of the Women of the ELCA and volunteered at the Chester Senior Center. She had been a Brownie Scout leader and enjoyed painting ceramics. Dolores was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Fan and St. Louis Blues fan and enjoyed listening to the UCONN Girls Basketball team on the radio. Most of all she loved spending time with family and was an amazing mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
