Dorothy M Korando

DOROTHY M. KORANDO, 91, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 10:12 am, Monday, August 12, 2024 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.

She was born to the late John F. and Lela (nee McFadden) Westerman on February 6, 1933 in Steeleville, Illinois.

Dorothy married Kenneth L. Korando on September 16, 1950 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Rectory, Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on January 6. 2007.

Dorothy had worked as a bookkeeper and helped manage the family farm in Chester.

She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois. Dorothy enjoyed working outside in her yard, tending to her garden and flowers, and taking care of her chickens.

Dorothy was a devoted wife, a strong wonderful mother, and a loving caring grandmother. She was an example of faithfulness to family, friends and God. She navigated through disappointments and loss with her head up and truly made a difference in the lives of those who loved her. Dorothy motivated everyone around her to be a better person. Her strength, integrity and diligence in every task she undertook will be remembered by those she leaves behind.
