Dorothy L. Middendorf

DOROTHY L. MIDDENDORF, 91, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 4:30 am, Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Coulterville Care Center, Coulterville, Illinois.

She was born to the late Louis and Naomi (nee Hermes) Durkee on April 26, 1929 in Ellis Grove, Illinois.

Dorothy married Melvin “Mel” Middendorf on December 1, 1950 in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on September 2, 2014.

She was a homemaker.

Dorothy was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Chester. She was also a member of the Chester Women’s Club, Chester Country Club and the Red Hat Society. Dorothy enjoyed golfing, reading and traveling.

It was Dorothy’s wish to be cremated. A Private Memorial Service will be held at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester, Illinois with Rev. Timothy Sims officiating.

A Public Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Dorothy’s memory to St. John Lutheran School and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester.
