Earl O Ruez

EARL O. RUEZ , 88, of Ruma, Illinois, passed away at 8:57 pm, Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.

He was born to the late Alva Francis and Olinda Marie (nee Lyddan) Ruez on October 21, 1933 in Evansville, Illinois.

Earl married Dorothy Louise Liefer on August 2, 1953 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Red Bud, Illinois; she survives. Together, Earl and Dorothy were blessed with three children.

Earl was a lifelong farmer, owned and operated the Chicken Barn and had been an assistant postman.

He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Ruma, Illinois., where he served for many decades as secretary, treasurer, trustee, and congregational chairman, and also was a member of the Men’s Club at church. Earl was also a very active member of the greater community, serving for many years on various boards, including those for the Red Bud Rural Fire District (for 35 years), Red Bud Chapter of FFA Alumni, Red Bud Hospital, Red Bud Nursing Home, Randolph Farmers Co-op, Randolph County FSA, Randolph County Pork Producers, and St. John’s Lutheran School.
