Elaine V. Shannon

ELAINE V. SHANNON, 95, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 7:50 pm, Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Oak Hill, Waterloo, Illinois.

She was born to the late Norman and Esther (nee Fleischman) Knox on September 23, 1929, in Bemidji, Minnesota.

Elaine married Burton H. Shannon on March 28, 1948, in Neotsu, Oregon; he preceded her in death on March 31, 2017.

She had been a homemaker and was of the Lutheran Faith.

Elaine was an avid golfer and past member of the North County Country Club in Red Bud, Illinois. She was a past club champion and also had nine holes in one during her lifetime.   She enjoyed playing cards and games with her friends.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Husband, 1 Son – Lance Shannon, Roxana’s life partner – Raymond Marek, 1 Grandson – Heath Shannon, and 8 Brothers & Sisters.

It was Elaine’s wishes to be cremated. She will be joining her loving husband at Jefferson Barracks Nationals Cemetery, St. Louis, Missouri at a later date.
