GEORGE E. ALLEN, 86, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 1:20 am, Tuesday, July 9, 2024 at Memorial Hospital in Chester, Illinois.

He was born to the late Charles and Bertha (nee Woolard) Allen on October 17, 1937 in Carrier Mills, Illinois

George married Norma Gail Owens on July 30, 1960 in Harrisburg, Illinois; she preceded him in death on May 27, 1998.

He retired from Menard Correctional Center in Chester, Illinois where he had worked for 30 years.

George enjoyed fishing at Randolph County Lake. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He was an Army Veteran.
