Gilbert A. Bauer

GILBERT A. BAUER, 87, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 5:20 pm, Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Red Bud Regional Hospital, Red Bud, Illinois.

He was born to the late Leonard and Irene (nee Veath) Bauer on May 7, 1933 in Evansville, Illinois.

Gilbert married Leta Rae Robert on September 9, 1953 in Red Bud, Illinois; she preceded him in death on May 25, 2010.

He was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ruma, Illinois. He was a lifelong Union Carpenter and enjoyed wood working.

Gilbert was an Army Veteran.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Wife, 1 Son – Steven J. Bauer and 3 Brothers – Donald, Raymond and Joe Bauer

It was Gilbert’s wish to be cremated. A Private Graveside Service will be held at a later date.

Memorials can be made in Gilbert’s memory to St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Ruma, Illinois and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Red Bud.
