Gloria B Stellhorn

GLORIA B. STELLHORN , 80 , of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 4:47 am, Tuesday, October 11, 2022 at Red Bud Regional Care, Red Bud, Illinois.

She was born to the late Earl and Bernice (nee Stamm) Ellner on July 6, 1942 in Red Bud, Illinois.

Gloria married Clifford F. Stellhorn on September 7, 1963 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Prairie (Red Bud), Illinois; he preceded her in death on October 31, 2019.

Upon graduating from Red Bud High School in 1961, Gloria went to work as a secretary at the American Furnace Company/Singer Plant here in Red Bud. She decided to stay at home to raise her children after the birth of Julie and Craig. Once her children reached school age, Gloria was given the opportunity to go to work for Dr. D. Tang. She remained employed with his practice for almost 30 years until her retirement in 2007.

She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Red Bud, Illinois. Gloria was never one to sit back and relax. She spent much of her free time dabbling in all sorts of arts and crafts – she painted, she cross-stitched, she crocheted, she smocked, she scrap-booked, and the list goes on and on. While she was busy with all this, she still had time for gardening, reading and collecting baskets, lots and lots of baskets. Yet, with all her extracurricular activities, she still made sure she had time for Clifford. Their annual trips to the Smokey Mountains and Las Vegas, were always something they looked forward to. Her later days were spent remembering him.
