Herbert Louis Martin, Jr.

HERBERT LOUIS MARTIN, JR., 73, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 8:55 pm, Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Deaconess Illinois Medical Center, Marion, Illinois.

He was born to the late Herbert L. and Martha E. (nee House) Martin, Sr. on October 28, 1952 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Herbert married Marjorie Connolly on May 29, 1999 in Tower Grove Park, St. Louis, Missouri; she preceded him in death on July 16, 2021.

He was a mechanic and worked on busses for several companies.

Herbert was a member of the V.F.W. and American Legion in Steeleville, Illinois. He enjoyed working on and rebuilding cars and motors.

He was a United States Army Staff Sergeant.

It was Herbert’s wish to be cremated. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
