James A. Fortman

JAMES “JIM” FORTMAN, 69, of Percy, Illinois, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:35 am, Thursday, August 26, 2021 at his residence.

He was born to the late Frederick H. and Agnes M. (nee Gass) Fortman on May 4, 1952 in Glennonville, Missouri.

Jim married Judy Hassebrock on July 15, 1972 in Murphysboro, Illinois; she preceded him in death on June 11, 2020.

He had worked at Spartan Printing. Jim enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren.

It was Jim’s wish to be cremated.

Memorials may be made in Jim’s memory to the American Liver Foundation and memorials are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
