James "Jay" B. Wittenborn

JAMES “JAY” B. WITTENBORN, 67, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 11:40 am, Wednesday, March 11, 2026 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.

He was born to the late Charles and Evelyn (nee Blechle) Wittenborn on June 9, 1958 in Monroe, Wisconsin.

Jay married Lisa Stirnaman on August 18, 1979; she survives.

He was a food supervisor at Menard Correctional Center in Chester until his retirement.

Jay was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. He was also a member of the Knights of Columbus #3790 and the Eagles Club Aerie #3252 in Chester. Jay loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren. He also enjoyed being outside and fishing.
