Janet R Houghlan

JANET R. HOUGHLAN, 80, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 2:55 am, Sunday, February 21, 2021 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.

She was born to the late Raymond “Chic” and Ruth “Tommie” (nee Duncan) Huie on May 28, 1940 in DuQuoin, Illinois.

Janet married Jack Houghlan on September 1, 1961 in New Orleans; he preceded her in death on February 19, 1997.

She had worked as a Teacher’s Aide at the Chester Grade School and St. Mary’s Catholic School and had worked for Illinois Department of Children Services. She was also a homemaker.

Janet was a member of First Christian Church, Chester, Illinois.

Preceded in Death by : Parents, Husband and 1 Daughter – Jill Spence

A public visitation will be held Saturday, March 6, 2021 from 10:00 am – 11:00 am at Pechacek

Funeral Homes, Chester, Illinois. We are limited to 50 people in our Funeral Home at a time. We

ask that everyone wears a mask and please use social distancing guidelines.

A private graveside service will be held on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Maple Hill Cemetery

in Sesser, Illinois with Rev. Phillip Keeton officiating.
