JANET R. WOLFF, 84, of Evansville, Illinois, passed away at 1:07 am, Thursday, March 14, 2019 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.
She was born to the late Victor A. and Martha (nee Wicklein) Wolff on May 4, 1934 in Belleville, Illinois.
Janet was a graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Belleville. Following graduation, one of her first jobs was working at the Evansville Shoe Company. Later, she worked for Governor Dan Walker, State Comptroller Roland Burris, and State Treasurer Jerry Conzantino, was Director of Randolph County General Assistance and Secretary for Randolph County Animal Control for 15 years, and a village trustee for the Village of Evansville for 22 years. After retiring from many years of public service, she worked part-time at Hardees and later at McDonalds. She was very active in the Democratic party serving as an Evansville Precinct Committeewoman, Vice State Central Committeewoman for the 24 District, Randolph County Chairwoman, and worked on several campaigns including John Glenn’s campaign for President.
She was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois. Janet touched so many with her great smile, laugh, and warm personality, and freely gave her time to help others.
