JIMMY L. PROFFER, SR., 76, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 9:20 pm, Friday, August 2, 2024 at Missouri Baptist Medical Center, St. Louis, Missouri.
He was born to the late Troy and Rosalie (nee Bollinger) Proffer on September 24, 1947 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Jimmy married Glenda Easton on August 3, 1974 in Chester, Illinois; she survives.
He had worked as a delivery truck driver for Bunny Bread for 31 years.
Jimmy was a member of the Masonic Lodge #103 in Millersville, Missouri and a life member of the V.F.W. Post #3553 in Chester, Illinois. He enjoyed reading, playing cards with his buddies and spending time with his family.
He was a United States Airforce Veteran and served in the Vietnam War.

It was Jimmy’s wish to be cremated.
Memorials may be made in Jimmy’s honor to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, Ronald McDonald House or Shriner’s Children Hospital and are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Home in Chester.
