JULIA M. GANGLOFF, 65, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 1:16 pm, Wednesday, January 15, 2020 at Memorial Hospital, Chester, Illinois.
She was born to the late Robert P. and Joan (nee Threlkeld) Weinel on August 16, 1954 in East Saint Louis, Illinois.
Julie married Timothy Gangloff on December 26, 1993 in O’Fallon, Illinois; he survives.
She had worked in customer service for most of her life.
Julie was a Charter member of the Randolph Society Foundation and was serving as the Foundation Secretary. She had a servants heart and loved learning about the history of the area. She spearheaded the Randolph County 50th Anniversary remembrance of the Vietnam War where she highlighted the Randolph County soldiers who died in the conflict. She was Secretary and a Charter member of the new Steeleville Rotary Club, a member of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, and served as a Trustee for the Randolph County Genealogical Society. Julie will always be thought of as a person who was excited to be a citizen of Randolph County, passionate about its history and the people who lived here.

It was Julia’s wish to be cremated. Private services will be held at a later date.
