Lawrence "Larry" Neil McDonough

LAWRENCE “LARRY” NEIL McDONOUGH, 73, of Ellis Grove, Illinois, passed away at 5:42 am, Wednesday, December 24, 2025 at his residence.

He was born to the late Lawrence O. and Shirley M. (nee Seymour) McDonough on November 29, 1952 in Chester, Illinois.

Larry married Anita Naeger on July 5, 1980 at First Baptist Church in Ellis Grove; she survives.

Larry worked for Singer Furnace Factory in the late 70’s and early 80’s. He then worked for Spartan Printing for 13 years and after that was self employed for several years, installing printing machines in South America, Canada, England and throughout the United States. He then worked as an electrical engineer for SCF Services for 13 years until his retirement.

Larry was a member of First Baptist Church in Ellis Grove where he was a Sunday School teacher and served as a deacon. He loved to be outdoors, trap and target shooting and working on his many different projects. Larry enjoyed camping, reading, traveling and writing poetry. He loved to talk to people about Jesus and politics. Larry enjoyed spending time with family, friends and being involved in church activities.
