MAEDELL A. RENNER , 89, of Evansville, Illinois, peacefully passed away at 1:15 pm, Tuesday, March 26, 2024 at Oak Hill, Waterloo, Illinois surrounded by family and caregivers.

She was born to the late Festus and Elizabeth “Lizzie” (nee Labruyere) Becker on November 5, 1934 in Evansville, Illinois.

Maedell was united in marriage to Raymond “Buster” Dale Renner on December 27, 1956 at St. Boniface Catholic Church, Evansville, Illinois; he survives. Together, they built a legacy through their (more than fifty years) ownership of Venetian Terrazzo Company.

Maedell was a faithful member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois. She also looked forward to her participation in the Red Hat Society Chapter Gadabouts and the American Legion Auxiliary in Evansville. She found immense joy in connecting with people and exploring new destinations. She loved to dance and would occasionally sing a little Patsy Cline. Travel was always an adventure, and many called her a human navigation system as she commanded great knowledge of maps and routes to virtually everywhere.

She was the epitome of a matriarch, radiating warmth, wisdom, and kindness to all who knew her. Maedell’s culinary talents were renowned, and her kitchen was the hub of love and laughter and a normal meeting point for holiday gatherings.

Maedell had immense joy in watching her daughters and grandchildren play volleyball and softball over the years.

Her spirit will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. She leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and cherished memories. Maedell will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
