Marcella Schmerbauch

MARCELLA SCHMERBAUCH, 96, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 10:09 am, Monday, January 23, 2023.

She was born to the late Edwin G. and Dora (nee Bueckman) Eggemeyer on July 20, 1926 in Chester, Illinois.

Marcella married Daniel Surman; he preceded her in death in February 1952. She married Paul Schmerbauch on July 7, 1953; he preceded her in death on November 29, 2011.

She had worked in the dietary department at Chester Memorial Hospital for 23 years.

Marcella was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. She was also a member of the ladies altar sodality and the Memorial Hospital auxiliary. Marcella enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting and crafting.
