Mary Ann Jeffreys

MARY ANN JEFFREYS, 100, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:00 pm, Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Randolph County Care Center, Sparta, Illinois.

She was born to the late Harry E. and Martha (nee Rensch) Kennedy on October 14, 1921 in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mary Ann married Robert “Jeff” L. Jeffreys on April 25, 1959 in Washington, D.C.; he preceded her in death on December 9, 2004.

She was a homemaker. In her earlier years she was a secretary for the Department of the Navy.

Mary Ann was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Chester where she also served as a secretary for many years. She was also the corresponding secretary for the USS Birmingham CL62 Reunion. She was apart of several organizations and clubs including United Methodist Women, Library Board, Bridge Club, and the Hospital Auxiliary where she was chairman of the blood drive. She loved playing games and was an avid reader.
