MARY LIMBAUGH, 96, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 6:30 pm, Saturday, March 23, 2019 at her home.

She was born to the late John Bay and Mary Segius (nee Thomson) Heagler on November 5, 1922 in Paragould, Arkansas.

Mary married Manley O. Limbaugh February 26, 1943 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri; he preceded her in death on February 18, 2018.

She was a special education teacher at Chester Grade School for 2 years, Willisville Grade School for 1 year and Coulterville Grade School for 28 years until her retirement.

She was a legacy member of First United Methodist Church, Chester, Illinois. Mary was active in United Methodist Women, where she served in all the office capacities as well as being a district Shepardess and was the head of the kitchen committee for many years. She was also active in the Weslyan Service Guild and taught Sunday School for many years. Mary was a member of Chester Memorial Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered in the gift shop as well as delivering meals on wheels. She was a member of the Illinois Retired Teachers Association, Delta Kappa Gamma, Chester Women’s Club, Red Hat Society, Western Egyptian Volunteer Program and was honored along with her husband as Citizen of the Year in 1995. Mary was an excellent seamstress and loved to cook.
