Max L Tinsman, Jr.

MAX L. TINSMAN, JR. , 78, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 1:43 pm, Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Memorial Hospital of Carbondale.

He was born to the late Max and Mary (nee Eggers) Tinsman, Sr. on May 21, 1946 in Mattoon, Illinois.

Max married Donna Young on September 4, 1965 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois; she survives.

He had worked at GTE and Egyptian Telephone for 40 years.

Max was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church, Chester, Illinois, and Masonic Lodge #427, Red Bud, Illinois. He was an Army National Guard veteran.

Max enjoyed target shooting, fishing, and woodworking. He loved spending time with his family and friends.

It was Max’s wish to be cremated and a private inurnment service will be held at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Chester, Illinois at a later date.

Memorials in Max’s memory can be given to Shriners Hospitals for Children, St. Mary’s Catholic School or Church and are being accepted at the funeral home.
