MILDRED “MILLIE” L. LAYTON , 91 , of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 4:15 pm, Monday, August 10, 2020 at her residence.
She was born to the late Otto J. and Irene (nee Bueckman) Welge on July 4, 1929 in Chester, Illinois.
Millie married Lester Tindall on August 13, 1949 at Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois; he preceded her in death on December 31, 1978. She then married Huebert Layton on November 12, 1982; he preceded her in death on December 1, 1991.
She had worked as a loan officer for First National Bank in Chester for 40 years and then had moved to Buena Vista National Bank until her retirement in 1994.
She was a member of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester, Illinois. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Ladies Altar Sodality at church.
