Minnie Marie Hartenberger

April 21, 1927 — November 29, 2020

MINNIE MARIE HARTENBERGER, 93, of Chester, Illiois, passed away at 4:00 am, Sunday, November 29, 2020 at Red Bud Regional Care Center, Red Bud, Illinois.

She was born to the late Carl Leo and Bertha Mae (nee Moore) Kessel on April 21, 1927 in Ava, Illinois.

Minnie married Clarence B. Hartenberger on May 28, 1949 in Sparta, Illinois; he preceded her in death on May 29, 1989.

She worked as a loving homemaker and a cook at the nursing home facilities in Chester as well as Chester High School.

Minnie was a member of Peace Lutheran Church and Grace Church Ministries both in Chester.

She enjoyed reading her bible, cooking (no one could top her fried chicken Sunday dinners), drinking her coffee, flower gardening, shopping and most of all caring for her loved ones. Minnie was a devoted Christian, wife, mother and grandmother.

Preceded in Death by : Parents, Husband, 1 Son – Richard Hartenberger, 5 Siblings – Vernon Kessel, Ezra Kessel, Margaret Sweetwood, Wilma McCloud, Infant Brother and 1 Step Grandchild – Adam Creason

A Private Graveside Service will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Evergreen Cemetery with Dr. Mike Fogerson officiating.

Memorials contributions can be made in Minnie’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Illinois Chapter 805 and memorials are being accepted at Pechacek Funeral Homes in Chester.
