Raymond Edward Mavers

RAYMOND EDWARD MAVERS, 96, of Red Bud, Illinois, passed away at 3:57 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2026, at his residence.

He was born to the late Louis and Mary (nee Dalman) Mavers on April 18, 1930, in Detroit, Michigan.

Raymond was united in marriage to Patricia Petre on May 4, 1956, in Waterloo, Illinois. Together, they shared 48 beautiful years of marriage until her passing on May 5, 2004. Throughout their years together, Raymond and Patricia could often be seen dancing, camping, and spoiling the grandchildren.

Raymond worked for 25 years as a sheet metal aircraft repairman for McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis, Missouri, where his skilled hands contributed to the aviation industry.

Raymond’s faith and community were central to his life. He was a long-time, faithful member of St. Augustine of Canterbury Catholic Church in Hecker, Illinois. For the past nine years, he enjoyed attending St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Red Bud, Illinois, alongside his daughter. Raymond enjoyed spending time with his family and riding his motorcycle.

Raymond proudly served in the United States Navy from 1950-54.

Preceded in death by: Parents, Wife, 1 Son – Dale Mavers, 1 Son-in-law – Clarence Hamilton, 2 Sisters – Doris Murdock & Viola Mcelhiney, 1 Brother – Lloyd Mavers, and his dear friend – Cathy Mechler
