Ruby A. Kopf-Minks

RUBY A. KOPF- MINKS , 92 , of Springfield, Illinois, formerly of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 10:42 am, Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Memorial Health System, Springfield, Illinois.

She was born to the late Henry and Josephine (nee Bollmann) Mueller on August 31, 1929 in Chester, Illinois.

Ruby married Aaron Kopf in 1949 who had been called to St. John Lutheran Church and School as a teacher and organist. After Aaron’s death in 1963, she raised her three children while working at Concordia Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. When Concordia relocated to Fort Wayne in 1975, she stayed in Springfield and began working as the secretary and receptionist for the research department of the Illinois Appellate Courts and retired in 2000. She met her second husband, Glen Minks in 1974, they were married in 1976 and together they enjoyed a fulfilling life in Springfield for the next 45 years.

Ruby was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Springfield. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. Ruby and her husband Glen enjoyed many travels together including trips to Alaska, Hawaii, Europe, Australia, New Zealand and also visits to see their shared children and grandchildren in Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Indiana, Michigan and Arizona.

Those who knew Ruby will remember her tireless energy, quick wit and humor, and her devotion to her husband, children and the LCMS.
