Ruby M Stratmann

RUBY M. STRATMANN, 106, of Evansville, Illinois, passed away at 6:16 a.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025, at Comfort Care Homes in Wichita, Kansas.

She was born to the late William and Clara (nee Shuchman) Cluster on June 19, 1918, in Degonia Township II, Jackson County, Illinois.

In her younger years, Ruby liked going dancing, something she especially enjoyed doing with her husband, Harold Leo Scheltgen. Ruby and Harold were married in Chester, Illinois. He preceded her in death in December 1961.

She worked in the packaging department at the International Shoe Factory in Evansville, Illinois.

Ruby later married Albert Bernard Stratmann in Evansville, Illinois. He preceded her in death in November 1990. After they married, Ruby and Albert honeymooned in Hawaii and Japan and continued to enjoy traveling together. They visited all 50 states and many countries around the world.

Ruby had many hobbies throughout her life. She made beautiful quilts, enjoyed gardening and baking delicious pies, and loved watching Dancing with the Stars and completing word search books. She also loved playing Bingo and going on trips to Las Vegas, Mississippi, and St. Louis to play slot machines. Playing cards with family and friends was a fun time throughout her life.

Ruby was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church in Evansville, Illinois.
