Rudell Figiel

RITA RUDELL “RUDY” FIGIEL, 101, of Chester, Illinois, passed away at 1:15 pm, Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at Three Springs Lodge Nursing Home, Chester, Illinois.

She was born to the late Bernard Andrew and Emma May (nee Dallas) Figiel on January 11, 1922 in Claryville, Missouri.

Rudy never married. She was a beautician by trade after completing schooling at Molar Beauty School in St. Louis, Missouri. Rudy ran a beauty shop in Chester for 41 years and was also a seamstress. She was of the Catholic faith and was a life long parishioner of Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Chester. She was a member of St. Mary’s Altar Sodality. She enjoyed crocheting and made many items for the dinner auction.

Rudy loved to travel and traveled extensively in Europe, but her favorite place was Mexico.

She was an avid fan of the St. Louis Blues and St. Louis Cardinals.

She will be sadly missed by her many friends, her extended family at Craig Manor, her special friend – Dale Grott, her cousins in St. Louis, Missouri and on the West Coast, and a Great Nephew and his family in Texas.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother – Jerald Figiel
